UHU All-Purpose Clear Adhesive, 7 ml Tube

UHU All Purpose is the clear liquid adhesive most people mean when they say "a tube of UHU". It bonds wood, card, paper, leather, cork, felt, fabric, ceramic, glass, metal and most rigid plastics, and it dries crystal clear, so a joint that shows does not end up looking like a repair.

It grips in a minute or two and reaches full strength overnight, and for the first moments after joining you can still nudge the parts into line — which is why it suits model work and small repairs better than an instant glue. Spread a thin film on one side only; on non-absorbent surfaces such as ceramic or coated card, coat both sides, let them dry, then re-coat and press together. It will not wrinkle paper. It is solvent-based, so work with a window open, and keep it away from polystyrene foam, polyethylene and polypropylene — it will not hold on any of those.

The 7 ml tube is the pencil-case size: one repair, a school project, an evening of card modelling. It is also the sensible choice if you glue rarely, since a solvent adhesive left half-used for a year will thicken in the tube.
